The Word Time lesson today taught the words “whale” and “ocean”. They used Sqwaker to help them spell and sound out the words.During the reading and writing period, the Sparrows class practiced sounding out letters on the white board. They focused on speed sounds and blending.The preschool classes made beautiful butterflies for craft. They used their favorite colors to color and make the wings, and added a paper roll for the body.The children enjoyed the reading and comprehension games during their computer period.The children have been practicing their reading skills during library time. They enjoy choosing stories with their favorite characters.The Yellow classes wrote about the country that they would like to visit one day! They talked about what they would like to do there.The preschool classes reviewed body vocabulary during circle time. They sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” and followed the actions of the song.During the Math & Numbers lesson, the children played “Red Light, Green Light”. They sorted legos, and stacked red, green and yellow blocks to make a traffic light.
The preschool classes also learned about animals during circle time. They really enjoyed making the animal sounds and doing actions for each one.In gym class today, the preschool classes played a game in which they had to follow the lines on the floor. They chased their friends while trying to keep their balance.The Yellow class read “The Jar of Oil” to help them practice their reading skills. The phonics focused on the “oi/oy” sound.One of today’s Kid’s Box book lessons focused on teaching the “s” sounds and learning how to group like words.In music class with Yui, the children used instruments to develop their playing skills.In the writing period, some of the children learned how to write the letter “k”. They followed their teacher’s example and practiced in their workbooks.
