The Blue class played hang man to practice their spelling and reading skills. They spoke about Setsubun the demon visit.The children in the Red class practiced writing the letters “b” and “f” in their writing books today.The Blue class reviewed clothing vocabulary for their language lesson. They reviewed seasonal clothing as well and the body parts that we put them on.The children challenged each other to “rock, scissor, paper” battles. They tried to be the first person to call out the correct vocabulary words.The Yellow class read “Our House” and pulled their favorite line from the story to practice their writing skills.The children took turns sounding out the single letter phonics. They came up with words that started with the sound on the card.The Orange class compared animals using adjectives such as bigger and smaller. They took toys from around the room to illustrate their sentences.The children did relays again today in gym class with Shota. They played soccer and kicked the balls to their friends.The preschool classes studied adjectives in their circle time. They reviewed feelings and how our bodies respond to our feelings.Some of the children were frightened but most of them fought back and threw balls to attack the Setsubun demon.The Chicks class prepared for the demon by talking about Setsubun and chanting “go away!”The Orange class learned language to describe our daily lives. They covered many topics such as days of the week, morning routines and time.The Advanced Yellow Class learned about micro-organisms in their Kid’s Box book lesson. They discussed good and bad bacteria in the foods that we eat, and what they do for our bodies.The Wolves class reviewed animal vocabulary in their Kid’s Box book lesson.Then, they connected their book lesson with the ESL lesson and added prepositions. They practiced placing the animals in different positions.The Cubs reviewed all single letter phonics in their reading lesson. They played a matching game with the flashcards.The children enjoyed singing “The Demon’s Pants” to celebrate Setsubun!
